A Call to Support the Heart of a Living Sanctuary

Dearest friends,

This year, we face a significant and necessary task: the complete removal and replacement of our roof.

Not just any roof but one made of aging asbestos, which must be safely removed and replaced with a new metal roof, the most cost-effective and enduring solution available to us.

The work is scheduled for November 2025, and we must complete it before winter returns. Delaying another year could risk far greater damage to the house, to the sacred spaces within it, and to the work that unfolds here every day.

We’ve been quoted €64,000 for the entire project including asbestos removal, scaffolding, and full installation. For a job of this scale and risk, it is an excellent and fair quote.

Now, we turn to you not out of panic, but out of trust. Trust in the field of those who have walked with us, drunk from our springs, prayed in the chapel, walked with our goats, wept at the foot of Mary, and felt the mystery of Les Contes touch their hearts.

If you are able to support us, even a little, we would be deeply grateful.

This roof protects not just rooms, but the rituals, the remembrance, and the refuge. It shelters the goats, the Red Rose Café, the Notre Dame de Sophia, the living waters, the books, and the conversations that change lives.

And now it needs your help.

Any offering, large or small, helps carry the weight of this sacred threshold.

Thank you for walking with us. Thank you for helping us keep this house alive not just structurally, but spiritually.

With love and deep gratitude,

Aletheia, Pete, Dinah & the Les Contes family
